Frequently Asked Questions About Mineral Supplements

Updated: Jan 1

Q: Do I have to take supplements on this program?

The short answer is: supplements give you the best results, but the diet and lifestyle changes alone can be powerful.

Here's the reality: most people today have significant nutrient deficiencies that diet alone cannot address. Even when we're eating well, our food isn't as nutrient-dense as it used to be. Depleted soils, food processing, and modern farming practices mean we're simply not getting the minerals and nutrients our bodies need from food alone.

The supplements we use are very specific in their doses and combinations. These precise ratios are nearly impossible to achieve through food.

That said, I have a lot of experience working with people who are sensitive to supplements. If you've had trouble with supplements in the past or you're concerned about tolerating them, let me know. We can work together to find an approach that works for your body.

The goal is always progress, not perfection. We'll meet you where you are.

Q: Will my supplement protocol change when I retest?

Maybe. It depends on what your retest shows.

Some retests show minimal changes to your protocol. Others show significant adjustments. There's no way to predict it because your body is constantly healing, detoxifying, and uncovering deeper layers of imbalance.

This is why retesting is so important. It ensures you're still on the right protocol and allows us to adjust as your body changes. It's also encouraging to see the progress you're making, even when it doesn't feel dramatic day-to-day.

Minerals are the root of vitality. Without them in balance, your body can't heal, detox, or thrive—no matter what else you do.

Q: Should I take my supplements on an empty stomach or with food?

Almost every supplement in your protocol should be taken with food, either during or immediately after your meal.

Ideally, spread them out throughout the meal rather than taking them all at once. Take a few bites of food, then one supplement, then more food, then another supplement.

If there's a specific supplement I want you to take on an empty stomach, I'll give you clear instructions.

If you forget during a meal or want to take extra between meals, some supplements are generally safe to take on an empty stomach for most people. But when in doubt, take them with food.

Q: Can I take my supplements with just a small snack, or do I need a full meal?

A small snack is fine. A few bites of food is usually enough.

That said, some people are sensitive to zinc and need more food to avoid stomach upset. If that's you, you might need to reduce your zinc dose when taking it with just a snack, or spread your supplements across more than three meals per day.

If you're having trouble, reach out via WhatsApp and we'll adjust accordingly.

Q: I know I should take supplements with food, but won't drinking water during meals dilute my stomach acid?

Drinking a lot of water during meals can interfere with digestion, yes. But a small amount of water to swallow your supplements has no negative effect. You're fine.

Q: I have trouble sleeping. Should I take melatonin or valerian root? What can I do?

Sleep issues are incredibly common, and there are many natural approaches that can help. But before you add anything new, please reach out to me first.

If you're already on a mineral balancing protocol, adding random supplements (even natural ones) can interfere with your program. Your sleep issues are likely connected to the same mineral imbalances we're already addressing, and as your body heals, sleep often improves on its own.

That said, there are specific sleep support strategies I can recommend that won't interfere with your protocol. Contact me and we'll discuss what might help.

Q: What are digestive enzymes? Should I take them?

Digestive enzymes are proteins that help break down food into a form your body can absorb and use for fuel. Your body makes its own digestive enzymes naturally, but most people aren't producing enough due to mineral imbalances and compromised digestive systems.

When digestion is weak, you can't extract the nutrients from food, even when you're eating well. This is why digestive support is often part of a mineral balancing protocol.

What I typically recommend:

Most of my clients benefit from GB-3, which is a combination digestive aid that supports bile production, pancreatic enzyme function, and liver detoxification. This helps your body break down food more effectively and extract the nutrients you need for healing.

I may also recommend glandular support depending on your specific test results and needs. These work together to strengthen your digestive system while we're restoring mineral balance.

Here's the good news: Over time, as your body heals and mineral balance is restored, you'll likely need less digestive support. Your body will start producing enough enzymes on its own. The goal is always to support your body until it can do the job itself.

Q: Should I keep my supplements in the fridge? Will they go bad?

You can store most supplements in a cupboard or leave them out at room temperature. They'll last about three years.

If you want them to last longer, you can store them in the fridge.

Q: Where can I find the ingredient list for my supplements?

I always encourage you to know what you're putting in your body. Most information is on the website rewingvitality.com/store If you have questions about any ingredient or want to review what's in your supplements, reach out and I'm happy to provide that information.

Q: Can I take other supplements in addition to what you've recommended?

Please check with me first before adding anything new.

Even natural supplements can interfere with your mineral balancing protocol. What seems harmless might throw off the precise ratios we're working to restore.

If you're interested in adding something, send me a message via WhatsApp and we can discuss whether it's a good fit for your current protocol.

Q: What if I run out of a supplement before my next order arrives?

Don't panic. Missing a few days won't derail your progress.

That said, consistency is important for best results. If you know you're running low, reach out and we can make sure you're restocked before you run out completely.
