Frequently Asked Questions About Mineral Balancing

Updated: Jan 1

Q: What is Mineral Balancing?

Mineral balancing is a comprehensive approach to restoring health by addressing imbalances at the cellular level. Every function in your body (energy production, hormone regulation, detoxification, immune function, and more) depends on minerals working together in the right ratios.

When these mineral relationships are out of balance, your body can't heal itself properly. That's when symptoms show up: fatigue, hormonal chaos, brain fog, digestive issues, sleep problems, mood swings, and more.

Through Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis (HTMA), we can see exactly what's happening in your body at the cellular level. This isn't guesswork. It's a precise analysis of 21 essential minerals, toxic metal exposure, and the critical ratios between minerals that determine how your body functions.

Once we understand your unique mineral patterns, we create a personalized protocol to restore balance. We're not treating symptoms. We're giving your body what it needs to heal itself from the inside out.

This science was pioneered over 50 years ago by Dr. Paul Eck and has been further developed by practitioners like Dr. Lawrence Wilson and others who have dedicated their careers to understanding how minerals interact within the body.

Q: What will my personalized mineral balancing program include?

When you work with me through the Cellular Renewal program, you'll receive:

1. A detailed explanation of your HTMA results. We'll have a one-on-one call where I walk you through exactly what's happening in your body, what your mineral patterns reveal, and what it all means for your health.

2. A personalized mineral protocol. You'll receive specific supplement recommendations (exact products and dosages) designed for YOUR body chemistry. No more guessing which supplements to take or how much.

3. Dietary guidance. I'll review your current eating habits and suggest adjustments that support your cellular health. The good news? We're not talking about restrictive elimination diets. We're talking about simple, sustainable changes that fuel your body properly.

4. Lifestyle recommendations. This includes guidance on sleep, rest, exercise, stress management, and other factors that support your healing journey.

5. Detox supportAs your body restores mineral balance, it will naturally release stored toxins and heavy metals. I'll guide you through this process so it's gentle and sustainable, not overwhelming.

6. Access to the Cellular Renewal group program. You'll join a community of others on the same journey. The support, shared experiences, and collective wisdom in this group is incredibly powerful.

7. Direct access to me via WhatsApp. You'll have ongoing support for questions, concerns, and guidance as you progress through your program.

8. Educational resources. Video training on how your body is designed to heal, how minerals work, and how to support your body's natural processes.

Important note: I will never recommend stopping any prescribed medication. That would be irresponsible and potentially dangerous. Any changes to medications should only be made under the supervision of your prescribing physician.

We're not treating symptoms. We're giving your body what it needs to heal itself from the inside out.

Q: How do I get my results and program recommendations?

After you send in your hair sample, the lab processes it and sends me your results within 2-3 weeks. I'll email you your personalized protocol and written materials, and then we'll schedule a call (phone, Zoom, or in-person if local) where I explain everything in detail.

Q: How long does the whole process take?

From the time you mail your hair sample to when we have our results call, it typically takes about 3 weeks.

Q: Vitamins and supplements tend to upset my stomach. What should I do?

This is actually really common, and there are a few reasons why.

First, many people who've had trouble with supplements in the past tolerate the ones we recommend much better. This is partly because of the quality of the products we use, but even more importantly, it's because we're giving your body nutrients that are designed for YOUR specific chemistry in the correct combinations and ratios.

That said, if you have a history of sensitivity, here's what I recommend:

Start slowly. Begin with reduced doses. You might need to take only a quarter or half of a tablet at first and gradually work up to the full dose.

Always take supplements with food. Ideally, take a few bites of food, then one supplement, then more food, then another supplement. Never take them on an empty stomach.

Zinc is a common culprit. If you feel nauseous, it's often the zinc, and it absolutely must be taken with adequate food.

Crush hard pills if needed. Some tablets are easier on the stomach when crushed.

If you're still having trouble, reach out to me via WhatsApp or email. Don't just stop taking supplements or make changes on your own. I have a lot of experience working with supplement sensitivities and can adjust your protocol to support your progress while being gentle on your system.

The good news? As your body heals, you'll likely find it easier to tolerate supplements. Healing takes time, but the more closely you follow the program, the faster you'll progress.

Q: Can mineral balancing help me lose weight?

Yes, weight loss is a common benefit for people who are carrying extra weight. But it's important to understand that this isn't a weight-loss program specifically. It's a program designed to optimize your metabolism and body chemistry.

When your cells are functioning properly, when your hormones are balanced, when your body isn't burdened by toxicity and mineral imbalances, your weight naturally finds its healthy set point.

Most people who are overweight find it easier to lose weight as they progress. In some cases, it takes a few weeks or months to start seeing the scale move. If you want to accelerate weight loss, reach out to me and we can discuss additional strategies.

Occasionally, some people gain a few pounds in the beginning. This is usually water weight as the body rehydrates properly, and it typically resolves within a few weeks.

Q: I started the program and now I'm experiencing new symptoms. What's happening?

These are most likely healing reactions (sometimes called detox symptoms or retracing). And while they're uncomfortable, they're actually a good sign.

Here's what's happening: As your body gets the minerals and support it needs, it starts releasing stored toxins, heavy metals, and correcting long-standing imbalances. Sometimes this process temporarily causes symptoms like headaches, fatigue, skin breakouts, mood changes, digestive shifts, or other discomforts.

This is your body cleaning house. It's normal, expected, and temporary.

What to do:

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Rest when you need to

  • Reach out to me via WhatsApp so I can guide you through it

  • Trust the process

Most healing reactions pass within a few days to a week. If they're severe or concerning, contact me immediately and we'll adjust your protocol as needed.

Q: How long until I start feeling better?

This depends entirely on your individual situation: how long you've been dealing with symptoms, how depleted your mineral stores are, how toxic your body is, your stress levels, your environment, and how closely you follow the program.

Some people feel shifts in the first week. Others take several months before symptoms start improving.

Here's what I can promise: If you follow the protocol consistently, your body will respond. Healing takes time, but the changes are real and sustainable.

Q: I've been on the program for a while and feel so much better! But why does my repeat test show little change?

Great question. This happens more often than you'd think, and there are a few common reasons:

1. Your body is prioritizing other healing work.HTMA measures minerals and heavy metals being expelled through your hair. But there are other toxins that don't show up on the test (chemicals, radiation, parasites, infections). Your body might be detoxifying those first because it views them as the bigger threat. So even though the test doesn't show dramatic change yet, your body is doing massive healing work behind the scenes.

2. Your body is finally using minerals instead of dumping them.Sometimes toxic metals tell your body to push out essential minerals through your hair, even when you're deficient. As you detoxify those heavy metals, your body starts using those essential minerals instead of expelling them. So your next test might show lower levels of certain minerals, even though you've been supplementing them. This doesn't mean you have less in your body. It means your body is finally able to use them properly.

3. Timing of the test.Hair grows about half an inch per month. If you had a major detox event two months ago and you're testing the most recent half-inch of growth, it won't show that detox. Conversely, if you just started replenishing a deficient mineral two weeks ago, there might not be enough evidence in your current sample yet.

This is exactly why working with an experienced practitioner matters. I can read these patterns, understand what's really happening in your body, and adjust your protocol accordingly. It takes years of experience to fully interpret these changes.

The bottom line: How you feel is just as important as what the test shows. And often, the real progress is happening at a level we can't fully see yet.

Q: Why do I need to do follow-up testing? And how often?

Follow-up testing is critical for a few reasons:

1. Your body is changing. As you heal, deeper layers of imbalance and toxicity are uncovered. What your body needed three months ago might not be what it needs now. The only way to know if your protocol needs adjustment is to retest.

2. We need to make sure you're moving in the right direction.Testing ensures that the supplements and diet are still correct for you and that we're making progress.

3. Healing isn't linear.Your body heals in layers. Each layer requires slightly different support.

How often? Most people retest every 3-6 months, depending on where they are in their healing journey. As your mineral levels stabilize over time, you'll need retests less frequently.
